Partners
Working on several levels to keep young children on the agenda of policy-makers, funders and program developers, CG Partners include a broad based network of organisations and experts, all of whom share a commitment to promoting programming and policy advocacy that addresses children’s rights and needs within the context of the family and/or community.
In addition to Partners, we have extensive links to key organisations working in the area of Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Emergencies and HIV/AIDS. We have obtained observer status at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and are members of the World Forum on Early Childhood, Coalition for Children Affected by AIDS, Global Campaign for Education/the Canadian Global Campaign for Education, the Inter-agency Network on Education in Emergencies (INEE), Mother Tongue BasedMultiLingual Education Network (MTB-MLE), Agency Learning Network on the Care and Protection of Children and the Child Rights Information Network (CRIN). We are also members of the international advisory committee of the Science of ECD.
Our Working Groups including HIV/AIDS and Emergencies are made up of both CG Partners and other key actors working in ECD and other fields/sectors.
We have also received support from the UBS Optimus Foundation to support research into the effectiveness of ECCD interventions and systemic reforms to promote optimal child development within the context of family and community, including how ECCD interventions address social healing and change in emergency and post emergency settings (Haiti) and attention to early transitions in children’s lives.
Looking ahead the CG plans to broaden and diversify the range of members with a specific emphasis on
- Expanding regional representation
- Establishing more links with health, the business community and the private sector.
