Job description:

The Aga Khan Education Services, UAE is seeking to appoint an experienced Early Childhood Director to start up and lead an exceptional and high profile Early Childhood Learning Centre in Dubai.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

*Set up the Aga Khan Early Learning Childhood Centre in readiness for opening in early 2009;
*Implement and oversee the running of an Early Childhood programme based on active learning, adult support, a safe and inviting environment and child-centered routines and schedules;
*Develop a strong Parent Partnership ethos based on regular communication and parent participation in the activities of the centre;
*In collaboration with the AKES, UAE Board contribute to the development of a marketing plan for the ECLC;
*Create a community of learners (adult and children) ;
*Lead the recruitment, supervision and management of the Aga Khan ECLC staff;
*Work closely with the Admissions Panel in the recruitment and selection of students;
*Develop a sound professional development plan for all staff and provide ongoing professional development for staff ;
*Develop and maintain an effective database and tracking system for the families and students of the Centre;
*Collaborate with Early Childhood Education Programs of AKU-IED, AKES Boards AKDN and other internationally recognised Institutions of high repute;
*Build strategic relationships with key primary schools to which the AK students will transition;
*Liaise with outstanding universities / learning institutions involved with teacher education;
*Promote linkages with local (public/private) schools ;
*Work with the Chairperson of AKES to produce and implement policies and procedures for the ECLC in accordance with local authority regulations;
*Ensure adherence to approved policies and procedures ;
*Ensure that all rules and regulations concerning health and safety and respecting fire preventions and safety are carried out;
*Work closely with outreach coordinator;
*Facilitate compliance with ministry requirements ;
*Stay on top of market developments within the education landscape within the UAE/GCC;
*Stay abreast of different codes and regulations as they relate to the delivery of ECLC program and services in this region;
*Work with the outreach co-ordinator to plan and deliver programmes for parents within the Centre and from the local community;
*Propose and plan with the outreach co-coordinator, outreach events that will position the centre as a cutting edge ECLC in the region;
*Prepare and submit annual budgets, plans and periodic progress reports to AKES;
*Provide regular status updates and reports to the AKES, UAE;

The candidate will have the following profile:

*Masters in Education specializing in Early Childhood Education;
*Work experience ' minimum 7- 10 years to include management of an educational centre;
*Experience in the start up of an ECLC is desirable ;
*Specific experience in Under 3's education is preferable;
*First language English with working knowledge of Arabic is essential;
*Knowledge of computer software and its application is essential;
*The candidate will demonstrate:-
*Working knowledge and understanding of current research and best practices in human development and early childhood education;
*Understanding of and ability to establish a developmentally appropriate early years programme;
*Experience in the management and supervision of staff and high level competency in the management of an educational institution which includes ;
*Ability to form and maintain a high performing team;
*Commitment to developing a learning community and the ongoing professional development of self and staff;
*Experience in developing parent and community partnership programmes;
*Comfort level with the attention and accountability that goes with a high profile education institution;
*Moral and professional integrity and a sensitivity to and appreciation of socio-economic, cultural and religious diversity ;

Recruiting for Early Childhood Care Education Program, Trinidad and Tobago

Job description:

The Government Human Resource Services http://www.ghrs.gov.tt is a small institution set up to service the HR needs of Trinidad and Tobago's Government Ministries. We are currently working with the Ministry of Education on a project to build up the Early Childhood Care Education Program across Trinidad and Tobago. We are currently recruiting for many positions within Early Childhood Care and Education and looking internationally for persons who are interested in working in Trinidad & Tobago.
