Current Activities:

0-3 mapping work will take place between April - July 2011.  Building on the review prepared for the proposed 2011 Lancet series on ECD, the purpose of the mapping is to:
  • produce an evidence-base review of ECCD practices and interventions that have demonstrated beneficial impact on the development of children 0-3 (low and middle income countries) and that have the potential to inform policy and programming elsewhere
  • develop a framework of entry points and effective practices and interventions, and to
  • propose courses of action for CG Partners in their policies and programmes for children 0-3 years of age.
The Survey will be launched May 1st.

The 2011 Annual Consultation will focus on 0-3.  Key objectives will include to:

1.    Examine the relationship between quality early childhood programming for children zero to three, particularly the most vulnerable, and the priority development concerns of human and social development, school ’readiness’ and achievement, and optimal holistic development of infants and toddlers.
2.    Identify practical and effective strategies for supporting the holistic development of children zero to three, particularly the most vulnerable
3.    Consider a potential menu of options for eccd actors to apply in national contexts
4.    Reach consensus on key areas for policy that could be taken forward in policy briefs
5.    Identify the areas and modalities for coordinated advocacy
6.    Develop a Coordinators Notebook on 0-3

Key research, resources, events and news to be posted shortly.
